Favorite Couples:  Gilles & Peta, Shawn & Mark, Melissa & Tony.  I liked the fusion dances best that went back & forth between dances, as opposed to half one style and half the next.  Of the dances that really mixed it up, I liked Gilles & Peta’s the best because I think it was the most difficult to perform emotionally – the Argentine Tango is dramatic and the Samba is fun so Gilles not only had to adjust his steps but his expressiveness.  Shawn & Mark’s was also gorgeous to watch but both the Tango and the Paso are dramatic dances so Shawn really didn’t have to worry about changing her expression from style to style.  With the Tango and the Cha Cha, Melissa had the same challenge as Gilles and she met it well – I just liked Gilles a bit better.  I did love Melissa’s costume change.

Other Thoughts:  When Kirstie and Maks were given the Quickstep/Samba by Karina & Apolo, my first thought was “it really sucks to have your partner’s ex-fiance in charge of deciding which dance you’ll have to perform – the Quickstep is fast!”.  Kirstie did really well in the Quickstep but she did lose steam in the Samba, a style I think she ordinarily would have done well in.  I didn’t get the costumes this time and I blame the skirt-removal-move for part of her stumble.

Who’s Going Home?:  No one this week but next week will be a double elimination.  I’m guessing Apolo, Emmitt, and Kirstie may be in danger but who knows?  I still love her but I wonder if Kirstie’s revelation about Patrick Swayze will hurt her.
