I think Sadie-Cat and Simon’s Cat Are Friends on Facebook
I am a night owl. Unless I’m sick, I’m usually up until midnight or later. The saucy kitten pictured above approves of this tendency because that aligns perfectly with her desire to play fetch at around 11 pm or so. Unfortunately for me—or for said kitten, depending upon whose side you’re on—I still require at least 7 hours of sleep per night. The kitten does not approve of this particular trait. The kitten, aka Sadie, is ready for breakfast and another game of fetch at 5:30 in the morning. To her dismay, I don’t train very well in this regard. She has tried a variety of methods to correct my behavior. She’s tried staring at me until I wake up; I can only assume she abandoned this quickly as it only appeared to work once. She’s tried politely tapping my nose with her paw but inevitably I pull the blankets over my head and continue sleeping. Never one to give up, her current strategy involves jumping on and off me until I wake up. When I open my eyes, I’m rewarded with a nuzzle which makes it difficult to be annoyed with her. So, good and apparently trainable person that I am, I get out of bed and fill her food dish. Kind kitten that she is, she allows me to go back to sleep without a game of fetch. Let’s just hope that she doesn’t get any other ideas from Simon’s Cat . . .

Meet Sadie . . .
I recently adopted a sweet little cat from the animal shelter. I still miss Petey (every day) but Sadie is helping me smile and laugh again.

I don't know why she's sticking her tongue out at me but I probably deserve it!
