Who Is Lighthearted Librarian???

Hi! I’ve been working in public libraries for around 13 years now–during this time I’ve been a Youth Services Specialist, a Reference Specialist, and a Branch Manager. I’ve recently returned to Reference Librarianship and am enjoying the challenge!

Like many librarians, reading is one of my favorite hobbies. As far as fiction goes, I’ll read just about anything–some of my all-time favorite titles are Jane Eyre, Pride & Prejudice, Sarah Bishop, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, the Harry Potter series, the Bartimaeus trilogy, the Stephanie Plum series and the Monkeewrench series. The one title I forced myself to read (because it’s always on the ‘best’ lists) is Ulysses by James Joyce–I personally didn’t care for it but that’s okay!

When I’m not working or reading, I’m either a) spending time with friends b) working out c) walking park trails d) thinking about walking park trails or e) it’s anyone’s guess! I do enjoy baseball, festivals and concerts–and I love the symphony and ballet–so I try to take advantage of those opportunities as much as possible.

I recently lost my rabbit to a long illness—he was a sweet little guy with lots of personality and I miss him.   I’ve recently adopted a cat and she’s a sweetie as well—I imagine it won’t be long before I’m posting about her exploits.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

I just wanted to say thanks for commenting on our blog! (And for linking to it!) You should check out our Oliver K. Woodman travel diary (via our kids page). He has been spending a lot of time in DeMotte lately. The photos might bring back memories ;D .
